Transition Assistance Program
Start Early. Plan Ahead. Transition Confidently!
The Transition Assistance Program is 26-30 January! This workshop is for transitioning service members who will soon transition out of the Air Force and into the civilian career world.
The process begins with individualized counseling to complete initial documents and then attend a pre-separation brief. Then, continue to the TAP Workshop either in person or virtually. Wrap up the TAP journey with Capstone, a final review that ensures all requirements are complete!
This is your first-class ticket on the road to a successful civilian career.
Details of the Process:
Individualized Initial Counseling (IC)
The process starts by completing initial documents you initiate DD Form 2648.
Return all forms to M&FRC to move forward to the Individualized Initial Counseling. This 15-minute session is to access your transition needs and assign your TAP tier level.
Pre-Separation Brief
Attend a mandatory 1-hour Pre-Separation Briefing to receive a full overview of TAP requirements and available support.
TAP Workshop (5-Day or Online)
Participate in the TAP workshop either in person or virtually. Modules include:
– Managing My Transition
– MOC Crosswalk
– Financial Planning
– VA Benefits and Services
– DOL Employment Fundamentals
– 2-Day Tracks
Capstone (Final Step)
Wrap up your TAP journey with Capstone, a final review that ensures all requirements are complete and that you’re ready for civilian life. This is your opportunity to address any final questions.
