No Saturday Classes offered at this time. 

Pool Rules

Willful violation of these rules could result in the restriction from pool use.

  • All patrons of Independence Pool will be required to sign in and out of the facility; including any members accompanying them
  • Children 10 or younger shall be under the direct supervision of an adult.
  • Children 11-13 shall pass a swim test or be supervised by an adult.
  • Children not toilet trained shall wear swim diapers.
  • No diving into shallow water.
  • No breath-holding or prolonged underwater swimming contests.
  • Chewing gum and smoking are prohibited in the pool area.
  • Food and beverages may be consumed behind the 10 ft white line on the pool deck. *Additional eating areas located right outside the facility.
  • Glass containers are prohibited in the pool area.
  • No strollers or wagons are permitted in the pool area.
  • Individuals experiencing the following conditions shall be prohibited from entering the pool: diarrhea, skin disease, open sores or lesions, including live immunizations, sore or inflamed eyes, and nasal or ear discharge.
  • No pets are allowed in the pool area. Service dogs escorting persons with disabilities shall be permitted on the pool deck and in restrooms. Also, working dogs accompanied by handlers shall be permitted in swimming pool areas as required.
  • Showers are required before entering the pool.
  • Lifeguards will clear pool areas during electrical storms and at other times deemed necessary in the interest of safety.
