Both officers arrived at Columbus Air Force Base as their first assignment. Lt Alford initially served as the FSW Deputy, while Lt Mitchell began her career in the MPF. Recognized for their exceptional skill sets, Lt Alford now leads as the Military Personnel Flight Chief, and Lt Mitchell has taken on the role of Sustainment Flight Chief (Fitness, Lodging, and Postal). Both are mil-to-mil spouses with husbands currently in pilot training, deepening their unique connection to the CAFB community.
Lt Alford is from Swanton, Ohio, and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Aviation Management. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, cooking, and building intricate flower LEGO sets, reflecting her creative and detail-oriented nature.
She is committed to enhancing efficiency and improving the Airmen experience by “streamlining processes to ensure smooth and stress-free outprocessing and inprocessing for all personnel.”
Lt Mitchell, originally from Orwigsburg, PA, graduated with the Class of 2024 at the Air Force Academy. With a passion for Broadway musicals and singing, Lt Mitchell brings a creative flair to her new role in sustainment.
She is committed to fostering inclusivity, highlighting that “fitness events should welcome all abilities, from line dancing workshops to yoga sessions. Cardio can be fun! Our mission is to make fitness enjoyable while promoting the diverse healthy lifestyles of everyone at CAFB.”
