Child Development Center

Offering Quality Early Childhood Development Programs

Welcome to the Columbus Air Force Base Child Development Center (CDC). You have chosen a high-quality early childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. Our primary goal is to provide the highest level of availability and quality of childcare for Team 14! The Air Force, Department of Defense, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children have recognized our team as meeting this goal.

Key Benefits

  • Cleanliness Standards that are on PAR with the Medical Clinic (Bathrooms/Accidents).

  • Only Care center within a 50nm radius certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
  • No additional Fees for Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, as well as no Registration Fees or Supply Fees.
  • All employees are CPR/1st Aid certified and have undergone more extensive background checks.
  • 2 Full-time Training & Curriculum Specialist
  • Employees are CPR & First Aid certified and have undergone extensive background checks.

Eligible Users And Ages Of Children Accepted

Columbus AFB CDC accepts children six weeks of age through five years (until they enter Kindergarten). Children of active duty, DoD/NAF civilian employees, contract personnel, and retirees may use the CDC. Children are enrolled in full time slots and drop-in care is available only on a space available basis. Hourly rates are applied for drop-in care.

Note About Special Openings By Contract

The Center is available for “special openings” on weekends or evenings for special unit or group functions. Requests for a special opening must be made to the director in writing at least four weeks in advance of the date. The request must include the date the facility is needed, the hours, the number of children expected, and the ages of the children. A contact name and phone number must also be provided.

Part-Day Enrichment

Part-Day Enrichment is a wonderful option for families who do not require full-time care, but still want their child to engage in social activities with other children. These programs are available for ages 3-5 years old and are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Click here for the link to register.
